Medical Elective and Internship
Nepal is a good place to take a medical internship where you can combine your placement with adventure activities and cultural experience. As a developing country Nepal has a basic level of health system however it is out of accessibility of majority of Nepalese people. As a medical student you might be able to see some cases and disease that was already eradicated in Europe and North America. Furthermore there are lots of cases people are suffering from curable diseases due to lack of awareness, personal hygiene etc.
At same time you are not earning educational credit you are also experiencing a unique culture and adventure of nature.
Where will I be working?
As per your specialty you will be placed at the hospitals in Kathmandu which are well equipped and well managed, running under Nepal government health department. The hospitals where we place medical elective students have lots of department and more than five hundred beds and thousands of OPD patients come to get treatment. As a government undertaken hospitals there are affordable services to all level of Nepalese people.
Who will I be working with?
As per your specialty you will be placed at the department where you are interested work in. There might be local and international student from
different university most of the time local professor assists in your work.
